Dr. Marco Tulio Aguilera Camacho Nació en Subachoque (Cundinamarca). Estudió medicina en la Universidad de New York en Rochester, donde obtuvo el grado en 1915. Fue médico cirujano especializado en ginecología en la misma universidad. A su regreso a Bogotá se vinculó al Hospital de San José, ocupó la presidencia de la Sociedad de Cirugía de Bogotá de 1942 a 1943. Durante su presidencia se creó la Escuela Nacional Superior de Enfermeras con la colaboración del Servicio Cooperativo Interamericano de Salud Pública y de la Fundación Rockefeller bajo la dirección de la enfermera Helen Howitt por medio del Decreto 466 de 1943 del Ministerio de Trabajo, Higiene y Previsión Social. Fue profesor titular de la Universidad Nacional. Falleció en Bogotá en 1956.

Dr. Marco Tulio Aguilera Camacho, Born in Subachoque, Cundinamarca received his medical degree (MD) from the University of Rochester, New York in 1915 and completed his residency training in gynecology at this same university. He joined the San José Hospital upon his return to Bogotá. He served as President of the Bogotá Society of Surgery from 1942 to 1943. During this term, he created the National Nursing School by Decree 466 issued by the Ministry of Labor, Hygiene and Social Provision, in collaboration with the Inter-American Cooperative Public Health Service and the Rockefeller Foundation. Nurse Helen Howitt was the first director of the Nursing School. He served as tenured professor at the National University. He died in Bogotá on 1956.
